A real pro documents damage with photos or video and explains the why before any work starts. Ask for recent local references from the last 3 to 6 months, not cherry-picked from years ago. Check Google and BBB ratings, including how the company responds to complaints. Established local companies are the ones still here to honor your warranty.
What are the warning signs of a bad roofing company?
Cash demands or half the cost upfront — legitimate contractors have supplier credit and don’t need your money to buy materials. No local office — beware door-knockers after storms with no permanent address. A bid far below everyone else — they’re cutting corners on flashing, underlayment, or materials. And poor online reviews, especially recent ones about bad communication or ignored warranty claims.
